Plantation Shutters, Made to Your Windows
Shutters are the most permanent window furnishing we fit: solid panels with tilting blades, built to the exact size of each window and hinged into a frame. They suit street-facing rooms, bathrooms and anywhere you want privacy with light, and they add to the look of a home from the outside as well as in.
Free in-home measure · fabric samples brought to you · made in our own workshop · installed in 2–3 weeks · 2-year workmanship warranty
What you get
Our shutters have 89 mm blades — the wide blade that gives the clean, open look and the best view when tilted open — in white. Panels are hinged into a frame fitted to the window, and we set out the panels, the frame style and any T-posts for you at the measure so the finished shutter opens the way you will actually use it.
- ✓89 mm blades, white
- ✓Hinged panels on a fitted frame
- ✓Inside- or outside-mount
- ✓Bay windows, sliding doors and odd shapes quoted on site
Two ways to order
We offer two shutter ranges. One is made in Australia, with a lead time of around two weeks. The other is an imported PVC shutter at a lower price, with a lead time of around eight weeks. Both are measured by us, built to your windows and installed by our own team; we quote both at the visit so you can choose on price and timing.
Where shutters make sense
Shutters are at their best on windows you look at from the street, in bathrooms and laundries where fabric does not belong, and on wide living-room windows where you want to adjust the light through the day without lifting a blind. They are a wipe-clean surface, they do not fade, and because the blades tilt, you can have privacy at eye level and light at the top at the same time.
They are not the right answer everywhere: a bedroom that must be fully dark is better with a blockout curtain or blind, and a window that opens inward needs the panel layout planned around it. We tell you plainly at the measure.
How it works
We measure every opening ourselves at the free visit — opening size, mount, panel count and layout — because a shutter cannot be trimmed on site the way a curtain can. The shutters are built to those measurements, and our installers fit them when they arrive. One measure, one quote, one install.
- ✓Free in-home measure and quote

Questions people ask
How long do shutters take?+
Around two weeks for the Australian-made range and around eight weeks for the imported range, from your deposit to installation. We confirm the current lead time when we quote.
Do shutters block out light completely?+
Closed, they block most light, but a little comes through where the blades meet and around the frame. For a fully dark bedroom a blockout curtain or blind is the better choice; many homes use shutters in living areas and blockouts in bedrooms.
Can shutters go in a bathroom?+
Yes — PVC shutters in particular are made for wet areas. They wipe clean and do not swell or fade.
What colour are the shutters?+
White, with 89 mm blades. It is the finish that suits nearly every Melbourne home and matches standard window frames.
Do you fit shutters on sliding doors and bay windows?+
Yes. Sliding doors use bi-fold or bypass panels on a track; bay windows use angled frames. We plan the layout at the measure.
