Sheer Curtains, Made to Measure

A sheer softens the light, keeps the room private by day and makes a window look taller and wider than it is. Ours are cut and sewn in our own workshop from Turkish sheer fabrics, measured at your home and installed by our team.

What a sheer does

A sheer is a fine, light fabric that lets daylight through while blurring the view in. During the day you see out; people outside see a soft glow, not your living room. At night, with the lights on, a sheer on its own is see-through — which is why most bedrooms and street-facing living rooms pair it with a blockout curtain or a roller blind behind it.

Hung floor to ceiling and wall to wall, a sheer is also the simplest way to make a room feel bigger. The eye reads the whole wall as window.

Fabrics we bring to your home

Our sheers come from Turkish mills — fine voiles, linen-look weaves, soft textured sheers and crisp whites. You choose from samples in your own light, against your own walls, at the free measure. What looks one way in a showroom can look completely different at home, so we never ask you to decide from a photo.

  • ✓Plain white and off-white voiles
  • ✓Linen-look textured sheers
  • ✓Soft greys and warm neutrals
  • ✓Wide-width fabrics for a seamless drop

How we make them

Every sheer is cut to your window from the measurements we take, with the fullness that suits the heading — usually S-fold on a track for a sheer, which gives the even, continuous wave you see in our photos. Hems are weighted so the curtain hangs straight, and every piece is checked in our workshop before it ships. We have been making curtains this way since 2014.

  • ✓S-fold, pinch pleat or eyelet heading
  • ✓Track or rod, ceiling or wall fixed
  • ✓Weighted hems for a straight hang
  • ✓2-year workmanship warranty

Sheer and blockout together

The most popular setup for a bedroom or a main living room is a sheer in front with a blockout curtain on its own track behind it. Day: sheer closed, blockout open. Night: both closed. We price the second layer as an add-on to the first, because the measure and the install visit are shared.

Questions people ask

Are sheer curtains private at night?+

Not on their own. With the lights on inside, a sheer becomes see-through from outside. For a bedroom or a street-facing room we usually pair it with a blockout curtain behind it or a roller blind in the window.

Can sheers be washed?+

Most of our sheer fabrics can be gently machine-washed or dry-cleaned. We tell you the care for the fabric you choose at the measure, and we leave the care instructions with you at installation.

Do you fit sheers on a rod or a track?+

Either. S-fold sheers run on a track (ceiling or wall fixed) for the even wave; eyelet sheers hang on a rod. We advise at the measure based on the window and the look you want.

How long does it take?+

2–3 weeks from your deposit. That covers cutting and sewing in our own workshop and booking the installation.

Is the measure really free?+

Yes. We come to your home anywhere in Melbourne, measure every window and bring the fabric samples. You get a written quote on the spot, with no obligation.
